Muyanga Lutaaya announces new career after quitting NBS Tv


NBS Tv’s longest serving employee Sir Simon Muyanga Lutaaya is finally calling it quits.

We have learnt that Muyanga, who currently hosts Barometer Extra, The Eagle and One on One with Tamale Mirundi is set to leave the Kamwokya based station at the end of this month.

According to the veteran journalist, he is heading into farming.

Recently, he revealed that he had taken on fishing as his new career but many observers believe he has returned to Bulamagi – Kaliro district where he is seeking to replace NRM’s Kenneth Lubogo.

He contested against Lubogo in the last elections and lost. He appears not to take any chances this time.

Muyanga is one of the pioneers of NBS Tv in 2008.

Beginning out a news anchor, Muyanga was soon elevated to the position of the head of the news department at the station. He occupied the position up to 2014.

He is credited for having laid a firm foundation which the station utilised very well to rise to where it is now.

Before joining NBS TV, Muyanga worked at NBS radio in Jinja and CBS Fm.

He now joins JB Imokola who returned to Makerere University as a lecturer, Chief news producer Tyaba Settumba Abubaker, programming boss Ali Wasswa, production’s Ivan Zamakara and Shaban Iguru have previously quit NBS.
