The Mukono municipality member of Parliament Betty Nambooze has lashed at her Lubaga north counterpart Moses Kasibante over rubbishing her motion to present before the 10th Parliament a private members bill dubbed “alcoholic drinks control bill, 2016”.
Nambooze says Kasibante is not a man of his word since prior to the introduction of the motion, Kasibante promised to support and second it because negotiations were first done between both of them but unfortunately Kasibante back tracked at the most crucial moment.
Nambooze says her friendship to Hon.Kasibante had stood the taste of time and at one time resulted into Nambooze acquiring the nick name Madam teacher and Kasibante Class monitor, but with what transpired in parliament, their long time bond was broken within a minute.
Meanwhile she condemned supporters of the ruling NRM party for fronting false accusations that the motion was proposed by FDC’s Col Dr Kiiza Besigye through Nambooze for the government to lose investors and taxes to meet the national needs saying that such baseless accusations intimidated many legislators who would have otherwise volunteered to second the motion.
Nambooze however insists that she is not ready to give up on tabling the “alcoholic drinks control bill” thus imploring the general to join the campaign for the betterment of the nation.
