Tooro kingdom asks the Central government after a very long time of engagements and threaten to drug govt to courts of law in case they fail to return their land tittles
The Tooro kingdom have expressed concern over the failure by the Ugandan govt to give them their properties which the president of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Museveni promised to return through Flourence Kiconco an aid in the office of the president through a memorandum of understanding which both parties assented to but up todate it has not been implemented.
Most of the Tooro kingdom land is used by government organs and organizatuons which hinders the development of their area since they don’t collect any revenue from them.
Speaking to the media this morning the prime minister of Tooro kingdom Bernard Lukwaago has called for more urgency for the return of Tooro properties since its their right and they need development on their properties.
He said government has only returned 17
Land tittles out of the 120 land tittles which makes them insecure especially at this time when goveenmentt is intending to amend the land law.
James Kaigya the minister of tooro kingdom in charge of planning and economic development said that the above has frustrated their fight against unemployment especially among the youths since they can not use this land more so for farming.
