Nigerian artist Omah Lay and six others remanded to prison
Makidye court grade one magistrate Jude Okumu has remanded to prison the Nigerian trio including artists Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, Temilade Openyi alias Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi the manager of Temilade and four other Ugandans. The seven have been charged of negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious disease as per C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act.
he seven who include also Ugandans Benjamin Kabura (organiser), Ivan Ddungu, the manager of the place where the concert was held, and Prim Kasana, the event manager have all been remanded to prison until Wednesday 16.12.2020.
It should be noted that the seven were arrested by Police on Sunday in connection to the unauthorized concert that was held on Saturday night in Ddungu Resort, Munyonyo, Kampala Capital City.
It should be recalled that after the outbreak of Corona virus in the country, the Ministry of Health issued guidelines suspending concerts attended by revelers in order to stop the spread of the deadly virus which guidelines still stand.
