No more notifying police about our activities – FDC

By Ronald Kabuye
Opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC says with effect from today they will not write to police again notifying them of their field activities since whenever they write they instead get frustrations, interference or stopped.
This has been revealed by the party president Engineer Patrick Amuriat Oboi while addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Najjankumbi.
He says their next activities which include Thanksgiving rallies in Rukungiri, Mbarara, Kasese districts and National Council meeting at party headquarters on 26th, 27th November, 11th, 6th, 7th December respectively will be held in defiance since police only frustrates and interfere with their activities whenever they write them.
Amuriat explains that they are tired of being tossed around by police whenever they take their letters or seek their audience including ignoring their calls and hiding from them.
He thus said forethwith the party will exercise their basic rights of association and party roles which includes mobilization, recruitment, identification of candidates and delivering key information to the nation in defiance.
“Several times I have been to police headquarters and the IGP Ochola would lock himself inside the office and decline to see me, am a party president who deserves to be respected.
We as the FDC we are going to conduct our activities in defiance, we are tired of being ignored by police force, we are tired of this harassment metted on us, it’s time for action.” said Amuriat.
