Opposition forum for Democratic change FDC has cited non coordination with in the security agencies and concentration on oppresing the opposition politicians rather than providing security for the citizens as the major cause of insecurity in the country that has led to rampant murders.
Addressing a news conference at the party headquarters in najjankumbi, the deputy party publicist Hon. Paul Mwiru wondered how the security fails to curb criminality in the country with all the structures they have in place ranging from village to national level, the 11 million crime preventers and the sufficient funding they get before advising the police chief Gen. Edward Kale Kayihura and the security minister Lt Gen. Henry Tumukunde to put aside their personal differences and strengthen citizens security.
Mwiru also called for a resignation from Kayihura and president Museveni asserting that they have failed to fulfil the obligation of protecting people and their property.
He further described the recently launched Mayumba Kumi as a political statement by the police chief to give comfort to those that have lost their dears ones saying that the best option is analysing the criminal reports.
Mwiru further described the police infiltration talks as said by the president and the police chief as mere excuses.
“infiltration of police: IGP would have resigned, if they have capacity to detect and prevent crime in the entire nation why not evaluate themselves internally! These are just mere excuses” said Mwiru
On their next cause of action as the opposition Mwiru said that they have directed their shadow minister for internal affairs Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi to analyse the situation present a report to parliament and to them which they will base on to decide what to do.
The statement came hours after another body of un identified woman was discovered on Monday morning at Nyanama 2 km away from entebbe road which brings a total of 21 murdered women in wakiso District with in a period of two months.
