National Rally Championship will set the stage for the title battle between four title hopefuls in Hoima this weekend.
With over 35 crews registered for the event; only Yasin Nasser, Ronald Sebuguzi and Arthur Blick have a chance on the title, with the inclusion of Hassan Alwi who might be distant but with a realistic chance as well.
Katumba currently top the leaderboard with 355 points; 55points ahead of second-placed Ronald Sebuguzi.
A podium finish for the Moil Rally Team could compound their chances of winning the title ahead of the final event in November.
Ronald Sebuguzi and Leon Ssenyange must aim for nothing short of a win to stand a chance to reclaim the top position in the standings.
Just like Sebuguzi, Arthur Blick and George Semakula need a top position to improve their chances of upstaging the top two.
Blick is currently 70 points behind leader Nasser.
The title fight is expected to be spiced up by crews including Omar Mayanja, Duncan Mubiru, Ponsiano Lwakataka whose positions in Kabalega rally might cause a shift in the standings.
In the Two-wheel drive category, current class leader Samuel Watendwa needs to maintain a podium finish to consolidate his position at the top.
Watendwa leads by 75points; 28 points more than Fred Ssenkumba who sits second.
A tight contest for podium positions is expected between Watendwa, Fred Senkumba, Sadat Negomba, and Timothy Gawaya.
Kabalega Rally revs off on Saturday morning with two stages before crews go into a super special stage to cover a total competitive distance of 33.04kilometres on day one.
Crews will eventually cover six stages on the final day to complete a total distance of 173.83 kilometers.
