The ruling National resistance movement NRM caucus deputy chairperson and also the Bukoli central MP in Bugiri district Solomon Silwanyi has failed to turn up for cross examination on allegations of burning his former wife’s car.
Silwanyi’ wife pinned him for burning his vehicle a Toyota Spacio UAW 496K.
It’s alleged that the MP  in 2015 borowed the car from his then  wife  Katono Kasifa to use it for his campaigns but under unclear circumstances the car was reported burnt.
Appearing before Nabweru court on for cross examination of her former husband ,  Katono  told the magistrate that all she wants is the NRM legislator to replace her burnt car and pay the costs  for the suit.
Katono, a former researcher at the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) claims her ex husband was driven by envy to  burn her car .
However the Nabweru Grade one  Magistrate Paul Matyama adjourned the cross axamination after  Silwanyi  failed to turn up.
His lawyer David Ojambo told court that the MP was in a meeting of national importance.
Through her lawyer Christine Mpumuire, Katono  expressed discontent over what she  called deliberate delays to deny her  justice by her former husband.
