A number of National Resistance led by Raphael Magezi of  Igara Constituency  Movement Members of Parliament have on Tuesday morning moved and adopted a motion to remove the Presidential Age Limit from the Constitution.

The MPs sat in an extraordinary meeting and voted on the contentious amendment of Article 102 of the Constitution.
The motion was moved by the Kyaka County MP, Jakson Rwakafuuzi, a lawyer by profession, and seconded by all the attendants except one Kumi Woman MP, Monica Amoding.
Amoding said that the public should have been consulted first before storming out of meeting
In response Rwakajala said the meeting was to consult only NRM members of parliament before an additional from Adolf Mwesigye, the minister defense and veteran affairs who said that the people are ably represented through members of parliament thus they can amend the constitution with or without their input.

In today’s meeting the MPs agreed to move a motion on Thursday seeking leave of parliament to prepare a private
Members bill.

Some of the cabinet members that attended the meeting included Adolf Mwesgye (Defense and Veterans Affairs),  Karoro Okurut (General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister), Ronald Kibule of Water and Galabuzi Soozi of Luwero Triangle as well as Anite herself.
