NRM: “Wednesday 7th, Set Deadline For Hearing Petitions” Director Legal


OVERVIEW: Today, it’s the seventh day of the hearing and target to complete is on Wednesday, it’s the course in terms of hearing intended to work hard to finalize but some may spine over on Wednesday. “Process has been fairly smoothly apart from from the few linkups there but we try to keep in our time”
Enock Balata Chaiman tribunal NRM while addressing the media during NRM weekly conference said that, they have received a total of 516 Petitions. So far 453 Petitions from regions of Kigezi, Lango, Acholi, Greater Masaka, Ankole, West Nile 1, Busoga, Bukedia, Bunyoro, Ruwenzori and West Nile two.
However Barata adds that, as if today we are hearing greater Kampala and Elegon region, these are 45 petitions, tomorrow Karamoja and Teeso region which is 42 petitions.
“Of those petitions that we hard of 453, have so far declared and issued 239 decisions close of business yesterday, 239 the number decisions issued will not necessary equal of the number of petitions because if petitions are on the same constituency then we combine it together, look at them and issued one decision. We aim to give our decision within 24 hour’s but at moment we looking to complicate on Wednesday, deadline”. Said Barata
