The presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC) that subscribes to the Catholic Antioch rite, Jacinto Kibuuka has urged parents to occupy their children in vacation with vocational studies as one of the measures of stopping them from getting involved in bad habits.
Bishop Kibuuka made the remarks during the Mamre International Prayer Center, Namugongo Janda’ Children’s Christmas party.
He said leaving children unoccupied exposes them to satanic acts which most times lead to death and being useless in life.
Bishop Kibuuka in the same way urged parents to find time of Godly fun and leisure with their children.
He noted that after realizing that most parents are not bothered about their children’s joy, the church found it befitting to have a day with the children.
“Many times, our children are not cared about especially during the festive season. worse still those who seem to care take them to Ungodly events hence we decided to get a day to pray, play, dine and enjoy with the children and also teach them more about God, Christmas and what to avoid not only during holidays but in their lives.” Said Bishop Kibuuka
Bishop Kibuuka further cautioned parents against neglecting the responsibility of grooming their children in a disciplined, integrity and Godly manner.
