Parliament is to hold a special session to honor the works of the fallen senior psychiatrist and former President of the world medical association Dr. Margret Mugherera.
Dr. Margaret Mugherera succumbed to cancer in India last Saturday though the deceased body was brought back on Tuesday this week.
Speaking during the special memorial service held at All saints church in Naksero, the prime minister of Uganda, Dr. Ndugu Livingstone Ruhakana Rugunda, as the chief mourner at the requiem mass revealed that cabinet resolved that deceased body be taken to Parliament this Friday for honor since she contributed a lot to the country.
Dr Rugunda on behalf of government delivered 10 million shillings as contribution from president Museveni who also described the deceased as a true patriot, who aws passionate about mental health services in Uganda for the past three decades she spent at the ministry of health.
Now Dr Mungherera’s body has been taken to her parents’ home in Mpererwa Kampala for the last vigil and the tentative arrangement show that she will be laid to rest on Saturday the 11.2.2017 at her grand ancestor’s grounds in Butaleja district.
