Police blocks Bobi wine Easter Monday concert as Bobi insists that the concert is still on

By Ronald Kabuye

Bobi wine alias Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu supporters will have to wait for long to enjoy the Kyarenga extra show after police blocked the same show that was slated for Easter Monday at Busaabala.

This has been contained in a communication dated April, 19, 2019 by the Police director in charge of operations, AIGP Asuman Mugyenyi, informing the organizers how police will not be able to secure the planned concerts and can not risk to let them carry it out in any unsecure environments.

Police accuses the organizers for failing to meet the security guidelines at previous concerts, those given to them for the upcoming one hence blocking it.

“This is to inform you that despite the elaborate and clear guidelines well stipulated in our correspondence and the previous meetings we had regarding the preparations, the manner, conduct, characteristics and security demands from your side, previous concerts have fallen short of agreed positions,” said Mugenyi .

Mugenyi in the letter to music promoter Abbey Musinguzi of Abtex promotions directed that the concerts either be suspended or stopped until further notice.

However, addressing a press conference at Kamwokya, Bobi wine assured the public that his show is still on despite of police blocking it.

Bobi said they fulfilled all the guidelines given to them by police and hence they see no reason for sabotaging his concert.

Him and  concert promoter Abey Musinguzi Abtex expressed dismay over police confiscation of their sound machines and the arrest of two of the crew members who are allegedly being detained at Nateete police station
