Following the arrest of 56 opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC supporters and leaders in various areas of kyadondo east constituency on the 19th this month and their subsequent detention at the infamous Nalufenya police station for unlawful assembly on Tuesday, they were finally released on police bond at kasangati police station.
Among the people released on the Friday night include a eight months pregnant woman, breast feeding mother, FDC presidential aspirant Patrick Amuriate Oboi, Robert Mayanja, Magret Wakuri among others.
Drama as police bus broke down in Mabira forest.
There was Drama as the police bus that was transporting the detainees developed a mechanical problem on its way to kasangati police from Nalufenya in Mabira forest, at this point the than detainees walked while handcuffed to Lugazi were another police bus came to their rescue.
Earlier on in the day, a scuffle ensued as the party officials including the secretary general Hon Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the secretary for mobilisation Ingrid Turinawe, Hon Apollo Katinti were denied access to their people at nalufenya which did not go down well with them.
