Kawempe Lord Councillor Muhammad Segirinya has given the Inspector General of Police General Kale Kayihura an ultimatum of one week to unconditionally release the jailed former Buyende DPC ASP Muhammad Kirumira from police detention.
Last week Kirumira was remanded to Railway police station by the Police tribunal where he is facing charges of neglect of duty and professional misconduct
Segirinya, flanked by former Nansana Municipality MP Hon Wakayima Nsereko and others had visited Kirumira’s home in Bulenga Wakiso district where they went to extend support to the family.
These carried with them items including groceries, scholastic material for Kirumira’s school going children and items to help rehabilitate the house that was broken into by police during the arrest of the DPC.
The group had also brought equipment to fix the door that was broken into but found that it had already been repaired.
“We are extending this support to this family to enable them continue living a good life at this moment when their sole provider (Kirumira) is being incarcerated by Police,” Segirinya said.
