The Uganda Nurses and Midwives union have resolved to engage government and discuss their grievances rather than joining the Uganda Medical workers Association on the 6th of Nov 2017 to lay down their tools.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, the president of the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union Cherop Justus Kiplangat called upon all midwives and Nurses not to be used by the Doctors as its planed to paralise the medical and health sector in the country.
He added that they are set to meet government officials next week and then they will come out with a common stand on their demands and where the government should come in to help and solve their poor salary pay and working conditions of Midwives and Nurses once for all.
Cherop has thus appealed to all midwives and Nurses to remain calm and continue on their duties as they wait for the final resolution which shall be got after their meeting with president Museveni.

This comes at the time when some of the Midwives and Nurses early last week came out and gave the government an ultimatum of up to 6th November to work out on their salaries and working conditions or else they are laying down their tools until further notice.
