Forum for Democratic Change lord councillors at the Kampala Capital City Authority have committed not to allow parliament to debate both the land amendments and the lifting of the presidential age limit.
The councillors led by the Lubaga north councilor Kawalya Abubaker revealed that they have no hopes in the legislators be it opposition or independents since they can easily be compromised.
They assert that the country has more pressing needs to work on like the rate of unemployment, land grabbing, fire out breaks in the markets among others of which constitution amendments is not among since its ok as it is now.
The councillors declined to reveal their next step incase the amendments and debated by parliament and passed
They also revealed that the Kampala minister Betty Olive Namisango Kamya is harbouring a plan to take the Kampala leaders for a retreat in kyankwanzi as way compromising them to support the amendments.
Now these councillors have embarked on the public awareness campaign.
On the increasing fires that gut Kampala markets, the councillors have revealed that they are to set up a select committee in the next council meeting to investigate the same matter.
