The alternative youths have revealed how they were tortured by the police’ flying squad unit under the command of Herbert Muhangi accusing them of driving the anti-presidential age limit campaign.
While addressing the media at melting point in Kampala, these youth have displayed dislocated shoulders, wounds and expressed internal pain which they allege was inflicted on them by police who incarcerated them for over 170 hours instead of the stipulated 48 hours
Norman Tumuhimise the alternative coordinator and Musoke Eria accuse police of torturing them.
He assert that torture was carried out by non uniformed officer in room79 at Kampala CPS of 3rd flour.
“I have been under several police cells were I was tortured especially in room 79 at CPS which den of evil.
I will never forget and never desire to ever take me there again, whenever I hear about that number my blood pressure runs at a terrible speed but we are to take up these police officers come 10th, we are finalizing with medical profiling” Tumuhimbise committed
Tumuhimbise received his partial freedom yesterday at 8pm from Kira road police cells after a city hall magistrate’s court order while Musoke is claimed to have been released by Kasangati police after police discovering that he was terrib tortured.
On behalf of the group members who were tortured by police, the duo have committed to drag police officers who have been behind their incarceration and human rights violation including the IGP Kale come tuesday 10th.
Vicent Ssekate the spokesperson of the professional standards unit has told our reporter that he is not aware about the allegations though appealed to the victims to open up investigations files
“I had not heard about it and its you telling me about it but if there are some people who have suffered under our custody they should should report to us at PSU or drag the individual officers in courts”, Ssekate asserted
