Ugandan parliamentarians have been lashed at for being selfish, greedy and money minded instead of solving the country’s problems especially those faced by the youths.
Esther Nakawooya, the aspiring Nakaseke district woman member of parliament come 2021 said parliamentarians and other leaders’ center of focus should be on eradicating poverty, unemployment, under employment, corruption, improving on the health services, insecurity, torture, illiteracy among others as opposed to drawing strategies that aim at stastifying themselves using the tax payers money which would help in boosting the economy and improve the standards of living.
Nakawooya made the remarks while fulfilling her pledge of supporting talented youths through sports in Nakaseke district.
Nakawooya also blasted MPs for betraying their voters by turning parliament into a business venture and a bribe sharing entity.
She wondered how the same parliament which passed Over the Top Tax OTT with a notion that its affordable and that it will reduce youth rumourmongering on social media can turn to the tax payers to meet their OTT tax in addition to data worth shs 30,000 monthly.
She further advised youths to utilize the current rainy season to engage in agricultural activities in order to fight poverty and famine which is likely to occur due to the climatic change.
