The permanent Secretary to the treasury Keith muhakanizi has advised that the government stops the creation of new districts in the various parts of the country.
Interfacing with the legal committe chaired by hon Jacob oboth oboth to answer queries as to why they haven’t facilitated the elections of the 6 new municipalities and 2 women by elections of iganga and kabong, muhakanizi said that the resources in the treasury are not enough to avail the 12billion shillings for this budget.
This after the deputy chairman of electrol commission hajjati Aisha Lubega said that they had not received funds take on these elections.
Now Hon Maria Kasaija says that they need to reconcile the budget by getting money from the various sectors of the budget which was passed hardly a month ago.
Elections in questions are Nebbi, kotido, njeru, apac, Ibanda, Sheema municipalities and woman mp for Iganga and Kabong.
Now Hon wilfred Nuwagaba says that parliament should ban the creation of the New districts without planning for them.
Meanwhile the finance minister has confirmed that the LC elections are expected to take place in the second quarter of the financial year because they have availed the money to the electrol commission.
