The hearing of the bail application filed by the jailed 14 people most of whom are muslim clerics has flopped due to lack of quoram of the three justices of the high court.
At first, the  application was to be heard by a single judge justice  Duncan Gaswaga, however this  was rejected by the  Director of public prosecutions Micheal Chibita on grounds that it was unlawful. Image result for Michael Chibita
This is the third time the hearing of this application flopped , despite the applicants assembling over 30 people to stand surety for them. Prosecution contends that the leader of tabliqs section sheikh Mohammed Yunusu Kamoga with 13 others and others still at large between December 2013 and June 2014 at various places in Kampala with malice aforethought unlawfully caused the death of two sheikhs ,Sheikh Mustafah Bahiga who was shot to death at Bwebajja and sheikh Ibrahim Hassan Kirya who was also shot dead at Bweyogerere. In their bail application lodged in the international criminal court of the high court division, they reason that its their constitutional right to be released on bail adding that some of them are suffering from  incurable diseases which puts their lives at stake in detention.
