Three billions Uganda Shillings needed for Constructing Gulu council complex.



Gulu district local government is seeking three billion shillings to construct a new council complex. The complex due to be constructed where the current district council hall is located will house a peace museum, hall of fame, offices and a district council hall. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi, Gulu district chairperson says the construction of the building stalled after Invisible Children Uganda, a charity organisation that had offered to build the complex ran out of funds. According to Mapenduzi, the council vision is to display the portraits and profiles of patriots on the wall in the hall of fame to preserve their precious memories. , the list of candidates for the hall of fame is already being assembled. Notable among them is deceased paediatric doctor Mathew Lukwiya who died while treating Ebola patients in Gulu district in 2000
