Experts in health issues have advised Ugandansto always go for Tuberculosis check ups for the betterment of their health after the current findings show that Tuberculosis is killing more people than anyother disease.
According to Dr. Isiko Kawanguzi Paul the executive director of Uganda Stop TB partnership ,he unvails that 90000 Ugandans are living with Tuberculosis and among them 4000 don’t know about the disease and there is alot that has to be done more so awareness programs to Ugandans all over the country.
Dr.Isiko says 42% of people leaving with tuberculosis have got HIV /Aids where as 58% are those having cuberculosis without Hiv/aids but about 20/30 people die of the disease every day .
This forced health experts to look for a person who can do as an ambassador to create awareness to the disease such that Ugandans understand it .
Local musician Moses Sali alias bebe cool through his Amber Heart Foundation was given a 400000 US dollar grant from the government of Canada which he signed last week to do awareness through out the country to see that Ugandans get to know about the disease .
Addressing a press conference in Kampala ,bebe cool says that the grant will see Amber Heart Foundation carry out a number of activities aimed at finding missing Tuberculosis patients within the districts of Kampala ,Jinja and Mbarara and these activities will kick off in December this year which will run for 14 days .
