The president of “Uganda boxing federation (UBF), Moses Muhangi has revealed that UBF is organizing elections to fill vacancies to ensure effective service delivery and promotion of boxing across.
Muhangi says that sports industry in the country doesn’t need shouting and wrangles but united and competency instead fighting against each other adding that as UBF president, he is eyeing for reviving boxing to bring Uganda to board again as far as sports is concerned. Since Moses Muhangi came to power, the NRMs Godfrey Nyakana also former patron UBF, commenced to oppose Muhangi’s leadership accusing him of embezzling UGX900M of UBF, and being a failure to lead such a federation.
However Muhangi says, he is willing and ready to work with everybody who is fighting for boosting and promotion of boxing and sports in general instead targeting for their own personal interests, “we are organizing elections to fill the vacancies like patron, both vice presidents in charge of administration, and technical, various commissions among others, “am a person with ability to lead boxing in the country, and I enthrall every person who is ready to work with my leadership, but I don’t welcome persons with meaningless and nonsense thoughts that hinder development of sports, Muhangi added”.
According to source, elections will be held in early January next year following the fulfillment of all requirements by the federation, but Muhangi says, in his term, he is aiming to bring back boxing on map both national and international level, discovering new talents of young generation to brighten their future, and to eliminate on unemployment specifically within youth among others.
