Uganda Cranes Struggles to Win South Sudan (1-0) in AFCON Qualifiers

By: Denis Kayongo. Uganda Cranes and South Sudan have played almost 85 minutes without a goal but Halid Lwaliwa who came in to replace the injured Ronald Mukibi scored the olny goal which has been in this game

Uganda Cranes Struggles to Win South Sudan  (1-0) in AFCON Qualifiers

The Cranes started with posessing the ball in the first (20) minutes with Khalid Aucho and Mike Azira dominating in the middle of the park 

South Sudan later along changed the formation and seated behind the ball for the rset of the half time. Uganda struggled to get a goal at least in the half time using the left wing with Ochaya and Luwaga Kizito trying to get Nsibambi and Okwi but it couldn't work for the Cranes.

Uganda Cranes came back in the second half Pressing the opponents looking for an early goal but The Bright Stars resisted. Since the Cranes head Coach Johnathan McKinstry has been on presure to a goal that forced him to make a quick substitution , taking off Emma Okwi who has been looking so poor infront of the Goal and brought in the former KCCA FC player Allan Okello 20, to press Sudan.

McKinstry has made (4) panicy substitutes, bringing in the (2) Debtantes Karim Watambala and Halid Lwaliwa to join Elvis Bwomono who started the match also making his debut on National Team, Edrisa Lubega also came in replacing Nsibambi as a target man

Emma Okwi, Ronald Mukibi, Khalid Aucho, and Derrick Nsibambi made ways for Allan Okello, Halid Lwaliwa, Karim Watambala , and former Proline goal pocher Edrisa Lubega "Torres".

The left wing of the Uganda Cranes has worked hand in hand for the team to get the win, the left back Joseph Ochaya was fouled in the 84th minute and referee awarded Uganda a free kick wich was taken by Farouk Miya and head by Halid Lwaliwa to get his first goal for the national team on his debut.

Uganda has to play South Sudan in the second leg on Monday 16th November 2020 in Kenya, Nairobi at Nyao Stadium
