Hon. Meddie Kaggwa the chairperson of Uganda Human Rights Commission UHRC and his team comprising of the Legal Director, have on Wednesday paid a working visit to Mukono municipality legislator Betty Nambooze Bakireke Nambooze at her treatment and Detention Ward  at Mulago Kiruddu refferal Hospital.

the visit follow Nambooze’s petition to them through her of  M/S lukwago and court advocates led by Kampala lord mayor Erias Lukwago to issue a directive to police for her immediate release so that she can go for review of spinal cord operation review as cleared by parliament administration and the uganda medical Council.

The team from U.H.R.C arrived at a time when the honorable was being tied a “Lumbo Sacral Belt” to support her back, upon doctors’ prescription.

Earlier in the morning, medics were forced to wire the MP with nerve stimulus gear, due to failure of her nerves to function.
It is said that the condition has been orchestrated by both the physical and emotional torture that the Mukono Municipality Legislator has undergone since detention on Thursday 13 July, 2018.
Nambooze was first arrested on Wednesday from her home on offense of offensive communication and later secured a bond but the same was cancelled on Thursday after they summoned her and accordingly detained at nagalama police station where a new case of inciting violence was opened up against her.
All these are in relation to slain Arua municipality legislator Hon Ibrahim Abiriga and his brother who also doubled as his body guard Saidi Bugu Kongo assassination on their way back home at kawanda Matugga wakiso district.
