As part of activities to commemorate world press Freedom Day slated 3rd may at railway grounds in Kampala, UJA has today joined Kyebando residents in community service activities with an aim of promoting sanitation and personal hygiene and also as a way to strengthen our community relationship in fulfillment of our call duties.
UJA General Secretary Mr. Bayola Moses emphasized the call to the general public of the two core values of life as Personal Hygiene, Safe and clean environment.
Bayola also highlighted the need for communities to appreciate the role of Journalism to spa development in the country as whole.
In the same the chairperson of Kyebando Central zone, Mr. Kagimu Lazarus Moses applauded journalists for thinking about them before urging Kampala Capital City Authority KCCA to halt their arrangement of stopping to collect waste from the area free of charge.
Kagimu said before KCCA making people pay for the waste management services by contracting private companies, it should give people more time.
meanwhile ON Thursday 2rd May UJA in conjunction with HRNJ-Uganda and DGF will hold a media dialogue at hotel Africana from 8am to 1pm. The event will lead to the Climax of the main event of “world press freedom Day” on Friday 3rd May 1, 2019, at Railway grounds.
Time of Commencement is 7 am with a procession with the Celebrant being the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hon.Jacob Oulanyah and all journalists are invited.
