UJA president Kazibwe released on bail for fighting for Katanga residents

Buganda Road court grade one magistrate, Robert Mukanza has released on bail the Uganda Journalist Association (UJA)  president Hajji Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira and three others on account of defamation.
Kazibwe together with the LC1 chairperson of Kimwanyi zone, Katanga in Kawempe division Thomas Bagonza, Beatrice Nabwire Mukwaya, and Hassan Segawa are accused of defaming pastor Daniel Walugembe who was threatening to evict the resident on the same village.

It’s alleged that Kazibwe aired a line story which was defamatory in nature on Bukedde Radio which prompted pastor Walugembe to institute a private case against the four which however the same has been taken over by the Director Of Public Prosecution DPP.
in a fully packed court room, the accused together with their sureties who included the kawempe north lord Councillor Ssegirinya Muhammad have been bonded at four million shillings non-cash each, restrained from further discussing the matter and the sureties national identity Card have been deposited with court until the case is heard and disposed of.
The case has now been adjourned to the 28th of March to enable the director of public prosecution DPP study the file.
