The Uganda National teachers Union leadership has appealed to all parents and candidate students to verify their UNEB registration status using the new E-registration technology before its too late since there is still a chance especially to those whose head teachers conned off their registration fee.
The UNATU secretary General James Tweheyo says that this new policy is going to reduce on wasted years after school administrators running away with students’ fee.
He says that though, they haven’t officially received any complaints from students country wide but they should verify as early as possible so that they can re-apply though with some extra little fee but not wasted time
He has said that such cases have happen in only private schools since the public schools, government monitors and pays for her students which prevents public student from falling victims.
He has however acknowledged that they have informally read stories that in Mubende there are students who are already victims but argues them to use UNATU structures, district education officials and forward their complain.
Early this week, Kiyuuni secondary school in Mubende demonstrated on allegations of their head teacher disappearing with over 10M UNEB registration fee which Tweheyo says that if true, students should quickly forward their complaints.
