UWA OPENS UP AN INTELLIGENCE UNIT AT THE AIRPORT AHEAD WORLD WILD LIFE DAY

Government has today revealed some of the strategies that will be used in fighting poaching in Uganda.
Speaking to the press at the Uganda media centre, the executive director of the Uganda wild education centre Andrew seguya noted that they have now started educating the communities on the dangers of poaching as well as setting up a strong enforcement rangers team to patrol all the wild life areas in Uganda.
Seguya also adds that they have set up an intelligence unit at the international airport to deal with traffickers.
Just recently about 10 people were arrested in Uganda while trafficking ivory.
Meanwhile, the minister of wildlife tourism and antiquities Hon.Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi says they are set to celebrate the world wildlife day on 3 march this year under the theme ‘’listening to the young voices at the Uganda museum.
