VIGILANCE, LOVE, RESILIENT AIDED BOBI WINE’ VICTORY FOR KYADONDO EAST SEA

Renowned Musician Bobi wine alias Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi was on Thursday night at 9:45pm declared the winner of Kyadondo East Constituency by election winner amongst the four other candidates in the race.

According to the result that were declared by the returning officer Wakiso district Francis Nkurunziza, independent ticket holder Bobi wine gunned 25,659 votes followed by the National Resistance Movement’ Sitenda Ssebalu William with 4556, Forum for Democratic Change who also happen to be the former legislator Apollo Kantinti with 1832 votes, while independents Nkunyingi Muwada and Dr. Sowed Kayongo Male got 575 and 377 respectively.

Invalid votes were 311 while spoilt votes were 41; all these were declared amidst tight security at Saaza headquarters in Kasangati with the presence of the inspector general of police Gen. Edward Kale Kayihura and anxiety from the waiting agents and a mammoth of bobi wines supporters who were gathered and chanting songs in praise of their candidate outside the headquarter fence

Addressing the media after his victory Robert Kyagulanyi thanked the people of Kyadondo for the overwhelming support adding that he will truly represent them however one of his priorities will be to reunite the people of kyandodo and reconcile with the leaders who don’t support him.

“it’s now crystal clear that the people’ voice has risen above everything, this is not my victory or my campaign team but it’s for the people and the new thinking.

We have now started a new chapter in the politics of this country, we have left the leadership of the few to the leadership of the people voice “said Kyagulanyi.

“my priority is to reconcile with those that don’t support me and to unite everyone because am aware that not everybody has been supporting me especially the leaders yet we have to work together to take our constituency to  greater heights” he added

In the similar way the Electoral Commission Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama committed to continue organizing credible, free and fair elections by avoiding the past mistakes but also open to criticism and receiving and rectifying the lapses once they get the information.

He also applauded all the stakeholders and the voters for their cooperation.

Meanwhile as a clear sign that people had unwavering love for Bobi wine, they jealously protected their vote from the dispatching centre in Banda, to the polling stations, tallying process to the extent that even after being declared as the winner the love seemed to have shot up the more and this was exhibited in  the celebrations that brought business to a standstill but also went transnight.
