13th Edition Of The EAC Armed Forces Field Training Exercise Flagged off in Rwanda

Kigali, Rwanda– A 45-member team from the Uganda Police Force, led by CP Paul Nkore, who is the East African Police commissioner, head of the East African Police Component in this exercise are    participating in the 13th East African Community (EAC) field training exercise at the Rwanda Military Academy in Gako.

The exercise was officially flagged off yesterday, by Rwanda’s Minister of Defence, Hon. Marizamunda Juvenal. In his address, Minister Marizamunda lauded the EAC partner states for their commitment to regional cooperation. He urged member states to embrace cooperation as the foundation for long-lasting peace in the region.

 

 

“This exercise is crucial for learning from each other, sharing experiences, and ultimately strengthening regional cooperation, It promotes interoperability and enhances our ability to operate in multidimensional ways, thereby deepening and widening our relations.” He said.

Minister Marizamunda emphasized the importance of collective effort in addressing security threats. “No single country can achieve this milestone alone. It is essential for countries to come together and address security challenges as a team. Working together will not only strengthen regional cooperation and integration but also pave the way for a more secure and prosperous future among member states.

 

The Ugandan delegation includes notable figures such as CP Michael Mugabi from Human Resource Development, the Uganda Police Force umpire,  ACP Lutalo Richard from Research, Planning, and Development, SSP Ahumuza Tobias from Counter Terrorism the Police Contigent Commander, SSP Okabo James, SSP Muzira Andrew, SSP Arop John Bosco, SSP Opiko, Charles, SSP Ochama Denis, SP Alur Juliet, SP Nabukeera Diana, SP Dockcen Atanasio, SP Baboneki Tomas , SP Wambete Cathbert, ASP Bukoli Edison, ASP Kedi Robert. The team has Inspectorates and other junior officers. The East African Community field training exercise is an annual event aimed at enhancing the operational capabilities of the EAC partner states’ security forces. This year’s exercise focuses on promoting sustainable development and security, which are pivotal for regional integration.
