About the BC PNP

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is designed to attract foreign skilled workers that are in high demand in the province – who seek to become permanent residents of Canada.

There are two key streams managed under the BC PNP: Express Entry and Skills Immigration.

You will first need to register an account with the BC PNP. Once this is done, you will be assigned a certain score based on human capital, skills transferability, and additional factors. Points in the BC PNP calculator are assigned on certain factors, majorly including Age, Education, Work Experience, Language Proficiency, and Provincial Nomination.

The higher your points in the BC PNP points calculator, the more are your chances of successfully receiving an Invitation to Apply for Canada PR.

If you manage to secure a provincial nomination from BC, you will now have 30 days from the date of invitation to submit a complete application through BC’s online portal.

You will be notified of the province’s decision once they have audited your application. This process usually takes anywhere between 2 and 3 months. If approved, you will be eligible to apply to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for Canadian permanent residency under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Securing a provincial nomination effectively guarantees an Invitation to Apply (ITA)., as it adds 600 points to the final score.
