21 candidates have been nominated for parliamentary seats in the recent concluded exercise that started on Wednesday 22nd October 2025.
The candidates were nominated by Masindi district election administrator who doubles as returning officer Kastrovas Kakaire held at electoral office premises in Kijungu Masindi.
The candidates who were nominated on Day one were 16 and they included: Keneth Kiiza Nyedoha for Bujeneje constituency (NRM) incumbent, Roggers Byamukama Masindi municipality (NRM), Joab Businge (FDC) Masindi Municipality FDC incumbent, Florence Asiimwe (NRM) District Woman Mp incumbent, Steven Wandera (NUP) Masindi municipality, Ronald Aled Akugizibwe (NRM) Buruli county MP incumbent.,
Other candidates include: Lillian Kasangaki (Independent) and Shamim Kasemire for district woman Mp, Wilson Tugume Wycliffe, Kasaija Roggers (NUP) and Patrick Paddy Kasumba (independent) for Bujenje constituency, Julius Mugisa, Ismail Nyakojo and Onyei Simon all Independent for Buruli county
Meanwhile, on Day two, which was yesterday Thursday 23rd October 2023 only 4 candidates were nominated by press time and they include as follows.
Philip Kyamanywa Mp Bujenje constituency on FDC Cosmas Byaruhanga Masindi municipal independent Karine Asiimwe Woman MP on FDC ticket And Frederick Banage Buruli county FDC
Speaking after been nominated, Kenneth Kiiza Nyedoha MP Bujenje constituency incumbent promised to extend electricity to every area that haven’t received electricity.
Ronald Alled Akugizibwe MP Buruli County promised to lobby more secondary schools in his constituency.
He also promised to ask for upgrading of health centre 3’s to 4 citing Kyatiri in order to improve on the standard of services offered in health sector within his constituency.
Steven wandera NUP candidate Masindi municipality promised to lobby for common person once elected.
Joab Businge MP Masindi municipality incumbent says one of his role is being voice of people in parliament which he has done by representing issues that have been burning them others have been attended to and others not.
He says he has done lobbying in various projects citing Kihuba seed school, fought for Bunyoro University, sponsored students in various institutions among others.
Kastrovas Kakaire an administrator and returning officer Masindi district electoral commission said the exercise was successful and asked the candidates to follow the electoral rules.
He added that campaigns are to start on 10th of November to 13th of January 2026 and no one is supposed to start campaigning before the scheduled date.
