Candidates from Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand were invited to the new Saskatchewan PNP draw

On September 27, Saskatchewan held a fresh round of invites. 391 applications for one of two immigration programs were approved by the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). The SINP’s Express Entry sub-category is open to 152 people, while the Occupations In-Demand subcategory may be open to 239 people.

Under Saskatchewan’s Expression of Interest (EOI) ranking system, the lowest-scoring applicant in each subcategory received 71 points. There were 61 qualifying positions in each category in this draw. A complete list of qualifying jobs is available on the Saskatchewan government’s website. Educational Credential Assessments were required for both groups to demonstrate that their foreign education was similar to the Canadian level.

In relation to Saskatchewan’s Express Entry sub-category

The Express Entry subcategory is an enhanced Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) tied to the federal Express Entry system. The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class are all managed through Express Entry.

In order to be invited to apply for a provincial nomination, candidates with Express Entry profiles must additionally construct EOI profiles for Saskatchewan. Candidates that obtain a provincial nomination in Saskatchewan will have 600 points added to their CRS score. As a result of this incentive, individuals now have the option of seeking for permanent residency in Canada.

All about the In-Demand Occupations subcategory

Since it is a basic PNP, immigrants who do not have an Express Entry profile can apply for the Occupations In-Demand subcategory. This sub-category is for highly talented individuals who have proven competency in a high-demand occupation in Saskatchewan but are yet to be hired by the province.

Foreign nationals must first create an EOI profile using the SINP’s online application system before applying for Canadian immigration under this subcategory. Saskatchewan’s EOI system allows the province to choose immigrants with the potential to thrive in the prairie province. Candidates’ capacity to settle in Saskatchewan will be evaluated based on their job history, education, language proficiency, age, and ties to the province.
