Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invites 404 immigration candidates in the latest provincial draw held on May 27.
All the invited candidates were eligible for MPNP’s Skilled Workers Overseas and had the minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 601 points. This score is calculated based on the Manitoba EOI Scoring Matrix. There was no CRS requirement for this draw.
Typically, the province invites only a few Express Entry candidates at a time. The majority of invitations are split between applicants who may be eligible for the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, International Education stream, and non-Express Entry applicants applying under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream.
All the invited candidates can submit their application for provincial nomination to Manitoba. Since they all have Express Entry profiles, an appointment from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) will automatically grant them an additional 600 CRS points for their score, which is sufficient to get an invitation to apply for PR Visa.
Basics on Manitoba Immigration process
Manitoba has multiple immigration programs that are designed to attract international talent to live in the province as permanent residents. All the immigration applications are managed by MPNP in coordination with the federal government. Canadian provinces cannot grant permanent resident status, but they can assist an application by issuing provincial appointments.
If you wish to qualify for a Manitoba nomination, you must register an Expression of Interest with the MPNP. After registering an EOI, you can receive an LAA through immigration streams – Skilled Worker Overseas and Skilled Worker in Manitoba streams.
All the EOI profiles are then awarded points out of 1,000 points based on the factors like human capital factors, also their ties to the province.
The Skilled Worker Overseas category and the Skilled Worker in Manitoba streams are designed to allow the province to identify candidates who meet the needs of its labour market.
All the candidates to be eligible must show a strong connection to the province, previous work experience, or invitation to Manitoba’s strategic recruitment initiatives. You are not required to be in the province to be eligible for Manitoba PNP.
To receive an invitation to the Skilled Worker in the Manitoba category, you must have a full-time job offer from a provincial employer.
International graduates who complete their studies in Manitoba may receive an invitation to the International Education stream if they can demonstrate that they have in-demand skills.
