Police in Bushenyi have arrested 7 suspects in connection with the murder of the retired Chief Finance Officer Mr. Abias Asiimwe.
According to greater Bushenyi police spokesperson SP Appolo Tayebwa, the apprehended suspects include 3 women and 4 men.
SP Tayebwa added that among the four men arrested, there is a key suspect one identified as Ayikiriza Clinton who has been his tenant for some time.
The deceased’s body was brutally burnt beyond recognition and placed in a ceiling. The body according to police was found in Kashenyi trading center in Ishaka division Bushenyi Ishaka municipality western Uganda
Tayebwa also noted that the suspects are being held at Bushenyi district police station as investigations continue.
His home is near Kashenyi trading center where he was murdered from on April 18, 2026
He graduated from makerere university with a business related course in the 1990s and worked at Bushenyi district local government for a long time. He for a long time served in the position senior finance office in charge of expenditure. He later rose to the position of CFO until he retired.
