Rt Hon Amama Mbabazi continues to fall into great things; appointed Canon in the Church of Uganda

The Bishop of the Docese of Kinkizi Rt Rev Dan Zoreka has today made new appointments for Canons of the Church of Uganda for both Clergy and Lay Canons during the 8th Synod Meeting at St Peter’s Cathedral Nyakatare.

Bishop Zoreka announced that he had appointed the former Prime Minister Rt Hon Amama Mbabazi, the former Kanungu District Education Officer Sunday Charles, the current Kanungu District Health Officer Dr Birungi Mutahunga, Dr Peace Musinguzi Garuga and Moses Katebire as Lay Canons.
The Bishop also appointed the Dean of St Peter’s Nyakatare The Rev Richard Tumwebaze, the Archdeacon Rugyeyo Ren Eunice Malirire and the Archdeacon Kihihi Archdeaconry Venerable Herbert Kiconco as Canons.

The Mbabazi’s a great couple
Earlier, the Bishop also announced that the Diocese of Kinkizi shall retain Counsel Jonathan Bwagi as the Diocesan Chancellor for another term of 4 years that ends in 2030.
During the same Synod Meeting, Kanungu District Chairman Eng Sam Arinaitwe Kajojo was elected Head of Laity to be Deputized by Mrs Irene Bizimana while Rev Canon Kenneth Kanyankore was elected the Head of the Clergy and will be deputised by the current Diocesan Secretary Rev Elizabeth Akandiinda Kamara and Eng Ishmael Ayebazibwe was elected elected Diocesan Youth Representative to the Province of the Church of Uganda.
