Mukono District Local Government has convened its Monthly District Technical Planning Committee (DTPC) meeting at the CAO’s Boardroom, bringing together technical staff to review progress and plan for upcoming administrative transitions.
While addressing the meeting, the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Henry Ddamba, commended the technical staff for their continued dedication and service delivery to the people of Mukono District. He appreciated their commitment in implementing government programs and ensuring that services reach the communities effectively.
Mr. Ddamba also informed the committee about the upcoming end of the current political term scheduled for 12th May 2026. He urged all departments to prepare adequately, especially by ensuring that the district budget is finalized and approved before the closure of the political term.
He further emphasized the importance of a smooth and well-coordinated handover process, noting that the official district handover will take place on 11th May 2026, followed by the swearing-in ceremony of the new District leaders on 15th May 2026 at Seeta Namuganga Sub-county.
The CAO called upon all technical staff to remain focused, uphold professionalism, and ensure that all pending tasks are completed within the set timelines to facilitate a seamless transition.
The DTPC meeting served as a critical platform for aligning district priorities ahead of the transition in political leadership. With clear timelines set for budget approval, handover, and swearing-in, the emphasis on preparedness and coordination underscores Mukono District’s commitment to continuity and effective governance. Ensuring a smooth transition will be key to sustaining service delivery and maintaining progress in the district’s development agenda.
