Newly sworn-in Bunyaruguru MP Hon. Cadet Benjamin Buturo has pledged to fight corruption, boost youth and women empowerment, and lobby for health, education, and infrastructure projects to improve livelihoods in Rubirizi.

Rubirizi,Uganda – Hon. Cadet Benjamin Buturo has pledged to make fighting corruption and poverty his top priorities after being sworn in as Member of Parliament for Bunyaruguru Constituency.
Speaking to journalists immediately after the ceremony, Hon. Buturo said he would be the voice of Bunyaruguru in Parliament and lobby for projects that directly benefit residents and lift them out of poverty. He promised not to disappoint the people who trusted him with leadership.
His immediate focus includes supporting street vendors, empowering youth and women, creating jobs, and improving household incomes toward self-reliance. He committed to promoting sports, education, modernized farming, tourism, and social welfare through economic empowerment, networking, lobbying, and good leadership.
Hon. Buturo called on residents to work with him in implementing government programs such as the Parish Development Model to fight poverty. He urged youth to avoid idling, alcohol, gambling, and bad peer groups that lead to theft and other harmful behaviors.
On service delivery, he pledged to prioritize the health sector by providing free scans, an ambulance, and hospital beds. He also promised support for education, infrastructure development, and the extension of electricity and water services closer to communities.
The MP said he would advocate for traders, fishermen, and farmers to ensure they are not overburdened by taxes, and vowed to work closely with grassroots leaders to improve service delivery. He added that tourism development, mentorship for youth, and support for sports activities would also be prioritized.
