City Oilers thrashed Livingstone in yet another commanding performance at the Lugogo Indoor Arena in the National Basketball League.

Despite securing a convincing 99-63 victory, the Oilers fell just shy of the coveted 100-point mark, sparking disappointment among fans and players.

The game reached a dramatic climax as Benjamin Kawumi’s last-second three-point attempt narrowly missed, denying the Oilers the chance to breach the 100-point milestone.

Despite the near miss, the Oilers showcased their strength throughout the match.

Throughout the game, City Oilers displayed their prowess, maintaining a consistent lead with quarter scores of 27-16, 27-19, 27-13, and 18-15 in that order.

Four players from the Oilers, including Fayed Baale (18), Benjamin Kawumi (15), James Okello (15), and Rogers John Baptist Dauna (12), scored double figures, with Dauna also contributing 9 rebounds to the team’s effort.

Although City Oilers welcomed back Allawi Ssenkubuge, the side continued to miss key player Titus Lual.

Livingstone, led by Durocher Diopa Lukusa and Bruce Okullo with 12 and 10 points respectively, fought valiantly despite falling short on the scoreboard.

They showcased resilience on offense and competed closely with the Oilers on the boards, ending with a narrow rebounding margin of 42-44.

While Livingstone’s defense faced challenges, they showed potential for improvement in future matches. The defeat marked Livingstone’s fifth loss in eight games, as they strive to solidify their position in the league.

City Oilers’ victory extends their winning streak to three consecutive games since their defeat to Nam Blazers after prior victories over KCCA Panthers and Kampala Rockets.
