The Pan African Pyramid (PAP) fraternity is mourning the death of one of its members, Shamim Kemigisha Atwooki, whose passing was announced on Friday. This comes just few weeks when the same organization lost its member, who was Kalangala woman Member of Parliament, Hon Helen Nakimuli.
Shamim, who was also a staff member at Makerere University Business School (MUBS), died on Friday, May 22, 2026, according to a funeral announcement released by A-Plus Funeral Management on behalf of the institution.
Her death has shocked colleagues, friends, and members of the Pan African Pyramid, where she was known for her commitment and active participation in youth empowerment and Pan-African causes.
PAP Chairman Andrew Irumba Katusabe described Shamim as a dedicated and hardworking member whose contribution to the movement will be greatly missed.
“We have lost a committed sister and patriotic young woman who believed in the vision of African unity, empowerment, and transformation. Her death is a painful loss to the PAP family,” Irumba said in a condolence message.
According to the funeral programme, a vigil is being held at Gayaza, Busukuma today, while burial arrangements are scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Kabale Trading Center in Bunyangabu District, Kibiito Sub-County. Salatul Janazah prayers are expected to be performed at 2:00 p.m.
Friends, relatives, colleagues, and members of various youth and community organizations have continued to send messages of condolence to the bereaved family, describing Shamim as humble, kind-hearted, and inspirational.
Her passing adds to the growing list of young professionals and activists whose contributions have left a mark on their communities and institutions.
May her soul rest in peace.
