“We cannot build a progressive community while clinging to the past, nursing hatred, or allowing critics to dictate our pace. The Bible and our daily experience teach us that progress attracts resistance, yet true leaders must press forward in obedience to God and service to the people”.

Dr. Rugaju calls on all citizens of Kanungu and Uganda at large to embrace a changed mindset so that transformation happens to change agents in homes, villages, and institutions.
He was speaking to the eastafricanwatch.net in an interview today and advised citizens to discard, hatred, disunity and divisionism based on religion and tribes or ethnicity.

THE DANGER OF A FIXED MINDSET AND THE SPIRIT OF HATRED
A fixed mindset locks people to past offenses, failures, and gossip. When individuals are fixed to your past, they cannot see the good in your present status and will never acknowledge your future potential. As the common saying goes:
Dr. Rugaju continues to say that in his leadership experience he has found out that “Haters, even if you walk on water, will say it’s because you can’t sink, or they will complain about the dust.”
This reflects a deeper truth captured in Scripture: critics will find fault no matter what you do right.
– Matthew 11:18-19 records that John the Baptist was rejected for being too strict, while Jesus was rejected for being too social. Jesus concluded, “Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.” The problem was not John or Jesus, but the condition of the critics’ hearts.
– John 6:25-36 shows that immediately after Jesus fed 5,000 and walked on water, the crowd still demanded another sign. Miracles did not silence doubt because envy and bitterness had blinded them.
Proverbs 27:4 warns: “Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?” Haters are not reacting to your actions; they are reacting to you. Therefore, we cannot live to please critics. If Jesus Himself perfect, healing, feeding, and teaching was mocked and crucified, then seeking universal approval is a losing game. Galatians 1:10 reminds us: “If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
THE CALL TO MINDSET CHANGE IN KANUNGU
For Kanungu to move forward, we must:

Let go of the past and hatred. Holding grudges stalls community projects, divides families, and kills cooperation.
Celebrate progress. “Walking on water” represents doing something extraordinary through God’s empowerment. We must applaud innovation, hard work, and transformation instead of nitpicking “the dust.”
Focus on God’s approval. Our primary accountability is to God and to the people we serve, not to detractors.
Become change agents. A changed mindset produces changed attitudes, which produce changed communities—from Ntungamo to Nyamirama, from Mpangango to Kihihi.

APPRECIATION TO THE PRESIDENT AND THE NEW CABINET
“On behalf of the people of Kanungu, I take this opportunity to congratulate all Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State newly appointed by His Excellency General Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda.
We sincerely thank His Excellency for entrusting Uganda with able, experienced, and committed leaders at this critical time. Your appointments reflect confidence in a team ready to serve with diligence in what we have termed “Kisanja No Sleep” a term that captures the urgency, discipline, and relentless service expected in this new term” he said.
He added “we pray that God grants you wisdom, unity, and strength to steer Uganda toward greater prosperity, peace, and service delivery at the grassroots level. The people of Kanungu stand ready to work with you to translate national policy into tangible change in our communities”.
In his concluding remarks he asserts that “mindset change is not a slogan; it is a daily choice. Kanungu will rise when we stop living in the past, stop feeling hatred, and start building together. Let us learn from Christ’s example: do what is right, serve with love, and leave the critics to God”
He also said “to the new Cabinet and State Ministers: Kanungu congratulates you and pledges to support you as you lead and serve Ugandans in this ‘Kisanja’(term) No Sleep. May your tenure be marked by results, integrity, and transformation”.
