•Kitara 0-0 BUL
•Wakiso Giants 1-0 NEC
Kitara missed a golden opportunity to widen their lead at the summit of the Uganda Premier League standings as they played out a goalless draw against second-placed BUL in a highly anticipated showdown at Masindi.
Despite the pre-match hype, the clash failed to live up to expectations with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances throughout the game.
Kitara’s forward Denis Omedi came closest to breaking the deadlock, but his efforts were thwarted as he fired over the crossbar on two occasions, leaving the encounter deadlocked at full time.
The stalemate means Kitara maintains their position at the top of the league table with 44 points, still holding a four-point advantage over BUL.
However, with just seven games left in the season, the race for the title remains tight.
Meanwhile, the draw leaves BUL with only one win in the year 2024, highlighting their recent struggles to secure victories.
Despite their current positions, both SC Villa and Vipers remain in contention for the title, sitting eight and nine points behind Kitara respectively, with three games in hand.
