New Era Begins As Hon. Sanjay Tanna Is Sworn In As Minister Of Trade, Industry & Cooperatives

Hon. Sanjay Tanna was officially sworn in as the Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives during a ceremony held at State House yesterday, marking the beginning of his service in the Cabinet for the 2026–2031 term. The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by the Head of State and attended by senior government officials, members of Parliament, diplomatic representatives, and invited guests.
Speaking shortly after taking the oath of office, Minister Tanna expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged to work diligently to strengthen the country’s trade and industrial sectors. He emphasized the importance of promoting investment, supporting local industries, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing the competitiveness of businesses in both regional and international markets.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives plays a critical role in driving economic growth through industrial development, trade expansion, and the empowerment of cooperative societies. Stakeholders have expressed optimism that Minister Tanna’s leadership and experience will contribute to advancing government initiatives aimed at boosting production, increasing exports, and improving the business environment.
