SHEEMA POLICE RESCUE WOMAN IN HOUSE FIRE

Police in the Greater Bushenyi region have urged the public to strictly observe fire safety precautions following a fire outbreak that destroyed a house in Sheema District.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at around 2:00 PM in Kyigimbi Cell, Nyanga Ward, Kabwohe municipality , Sheema district.
According to preliminary findings, the affected house belongs to Paul Twinomugisha and had been rented to a one Byiringiro.
Reports indicate that the tenant’s wife was inside the house resting when the fire broke out.
She was safely evacuated after her daughter noticed smoke coming from the house and quickly raised an alarm.
Police responded promptly to the scene and managed to extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties. No loss of life was recorded, although the house sustained extensive damage.
Some household property was rescued with the help of members of the public who joined efforts to contain the situation
The Greater Bushenyi Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Apollo Tayebwa, said the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services Department has launched investigations to establish the exact cause of the fire.
SP Tayebwa has since called upon members of the public to remain vigilant and consistently follow fire safety measures to prevent similar incidents.
