Cricket Cranes Fall To Namibia In Warm-up Match

The Cricket Cranes’ first Warm Up game ended in defeat following their 5-wicket loss to Namibia on Tuesday.

Roger Mukasa 53* and Robinson Obuya 39 fired the East Africans to a 134/8, but the total was an easy one for the Richelieu Eagles who chased it with seven balls to spare .

Henry Ssenyondo picked two wickets for Uganda, but Nico Davin (55) stood out tall as he led his team in their chase.

The game was played under the flood lights at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, and the Cricket Cranes got acclamatized to the condition.

With just six days to their first ever World Cup game, Uganda have no time or luxury to dwell on the loss. They open their inaugural World Cup campaign with a game against Afghanistan on 3rd June, but first, another warm up is on the card.

They will face Scotland on 30th at the same venue in what will be their final warm up game.

Uganda is placed in Group C at the World Cup alongside New Zealand, PNG, Afghanistan and co-hosts West Indies. They are outright underdogs in this group, but they will fancy their chances to produce an upset.

Their fans are looking at PNG as a team they could upset. PNG in their warm up game lost to Oman
