A section of individuals aligned to the Bulamogi Royal Chief Columbus Wambuzi have reconciled with the Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV following a decade-long standoff over Kingship.

The 50-member delegation led by the Chiefdom’s Chief Royal Prince James Naita says that the standoff had blocked probable opportunities, which come by virtue of being united with the entire Kingdom.

The delegation compromised of Princesses, Princes, Clan Heads, members of Bulamogi Chiefs Royal Council, Politicians, Religious Leaders and opinion leaders. The delegation was received by Busoga Kingdom’s Deputy Premier Osman Noor and held a one hour closed door meeting with Gabula. They were accompanied by the Kaliro District Chairperson, Elijah Kagoda.

During the meeting, Naita handed over a five page reconciliatory document to Gabula, informing him of their intention to workout a long lasting relationship and asked him to accord them the necessary support, which will allow Bulamogi to benefit from a United Busoga.

Gabula later joined the wider delegation in his living room, giving all attendees the opportunity of openly speaking out issues of mutual interest. Naita informed Gabula that some individuals from Bulamogi chiefdom were stealthily sneaking into the Palace to attend events but at the same time cheering unsuspecting members of the general public to protest.

Naita further says that their move was triggered by 2020 social media photos which showed Gabula and Wambuzi sharing exchange visits. Naita argues that much as Wambuzi denied any reconciliatory moves, the mood in the photos indicated otherwise, creating hope of possible unity, which they have come to signify with a courtesy visit to the King.

Kagoda said that when the courts of law declared Gabula as the substantive King of Busoga, and the fact that he was gazetted by government, it was a clear signal that there was nothing more to fight for rather than opting for unity. He adds that the kingdom has a number of opportunities like bursary schemes and agri-input support projects, which they missed due to standoff.

Osman noted that the reconciliation process involved intense meetings spanning four years and its worth celebrating the section of people in Bulamogi that is slowly appreciating the need for unity.

Meanwhile, Gabula noted he has known Wambuzi for a longtime and the they enjoy a cordial relationship, which is undisputable by the waves of unfolding events. Gabula further hailed the delegation for choosing unity, expressing plans for a public appearance in Bulamogi.
