KCCA Panthers hope to give it their all in game two of their quarterfinal series against the UCU Canons at the YMCA court in Wandegeya.

Trailing 1-0 after a 60-80 defeat on July 12, the Panthers are on the brink of elimination and must secure a win to stay in the competition.

Finishing fourth in the regular season, their best placement yet, KCCA now faces a must-win scenario to avoid an early exit.

They need to bring their best game to halt the momentum of a UCU team that dominated game one.

The Panthers had a slow start, trailing 26-10 after the first quarter, and struggled to catch up, eventually losing by a substantial 20-point margin.

Outside of Stephen Otoa and Davis Assiimwe, who combined for 25 points, KCCA lacked scoring options. Caesar Okhuti, usually a reliable scorer, was held to just 8 points.

Known for their tenacious defense, Raymond Muhumuza’s side appeared vulnerable in game one, trailing from start to finish.

They will need to tighten up defensively and find more scoring avenues to challenge the Canons.

UCU, boasting a strong roster including Peter Sifuma, Joel Kayira, Ibanda Lwabaga, Jimmy Otim, and Jerry Kayanga, will be confident of closing out the series on Tuesday.

The winner of this series will advance to face defending champions City Oilers, while the other semifinal will see KIU Titans take on Nam Blazers.
