More details have emerged on a catholic priest who was arrested over the murder of a Uganda Revenue Authority staff.
Police over the weekend arrested Dominic Alinga, a priest in Nakapiripirit over the murder of John Bosco Ngoro, a Uganda Revenue Authority staff.
This website has learnt that Alinga who owed Ngoro money he had lent to him called him over the weekend under the pretext of paying him, only to kill him.
According to Kituuma Rusoke, the Police spokesperson, police on Saturday received a report of a suspected murder along the road from Kitooro to Entebbe International Airport.
“The victim had been stabbed in the neck and head by an unknown assailant,” Rusoke said.
According to police, Ngorok was rushed to a Grade B hospital by the police but was pronounced dead 20 minutes later.
He noted that investigations indicate that the priest had been suspended from the church by the bishop on allegations of stealing offertory worth shs6 million.
This website has learnt that the incident was first suspected to be a hit and run accident and locals rushed the victim to hospital only to realise it was a murder.
Kituum noted investigations into the murder are ongoing to get more details about the incident and that the suspect will soon be arraigned in courts of law.
